Adult Direct Care Services

The Adult Services philosophy is based on the Recovery Model.

The primary goal of each program is to provide services that promote successful recovery for the individuals served.

Services are guided by the belief that people with mental illness can and will recover from mental illness. Recovery is a process, a way of life and a way of approaching life's challenges. It involves re-establishing a sense of integrity and a purpose within and beyond the limits of the disability.

Persons in recovery take control of decisions in life, understand and accept mental illness, take a forward thinking approach to life, take proactive steps in promoting wellness and gaining hope and the ability to enjoy life. We believe that by providing knowledge, support and choices, consumers can achieve their recovery goals. Services are based on individual strengths and preferences.

Participation in each program requires that an individual be at least 18 years of age, meet State of Kansas criteria for severe mental illness, be under the care of a licensed psychiatrist and be willing to participate in goal oriented activities.
