Get Involved

MHA relies on your investment of time, talent and treasure to continue our important mission on behalf of everyone in south central Kansas.  If you are one of the 20% of people in our community who deals with a mental illness, or you know someone who is, please consider any of the following ways of ensuring our continuing ability to serve the health needs in and around Wichita.

Helping Hands
Collecting Money

Invest

True philanthropy is NOT giving away large sums of money.  It is about giving what you can.  Yet so many people do not support causes that matter to them because they don't believe the sum of money they can give will accomplish anything.  Every penny matters to MHA, and every penny can make a difference.  So how can you help?

Packing Boxes

Volunteer

If you've been affected - either directly or indirectly - by some type of mental health concern among your social, family, religious, civic or professional circles, then you may just have the life experience that we want to serve on our Board of Directors or on one of several committees.  Maybe you enjoy planning events, offering your operational or financial expertise, or helping to expand the visibility of mental health in order to help others.  If so, we'd like to talk to you about what is entailed within these opportunities.

Mailboxes

Keep In Touch

MHA sends out quarterly newsletters, periodic mailings, and important reminders in the days and weeks leading up to major events such as our annual Bell Bash.  In addition, we like to stay in touch throughout the year   so having good mailing addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses ensures that you don't miss out on what's happening with MHA and with mental health overall.

Advocate

If your church, staff meeting, lodge, or Rotary group is seeking speakers for any type of meeting, give MHA a call at (316) 651.1241 to talk to our Communication's office about getting a speaker for your group.  We offer both broad-based mental health awareness talks, as well as program-specific subject matter experts, depending upon your need and the knowledge level of your audience.

Your connections within various groups throughout south central Kansas, and your ability to open doors for our speakers, is needed and genuinely appreciated.
