Individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness often have many barriers to employment. The Career Success Program combines four evidence-based practices to ensure that individuals with mental illness are able to overcome these barriers and reach their employment goals. The program utilizes:
- Supported Employment- Supported Employment Specialists will work closely with the clients and employers to ensure employment is a positive and mutually beneficial for both the employee and employer. After job placement is made, continued support is given to ensure long term success.
- Thinking Skills for Work- a 12-week program which assists the client in maintaining employment by increasing memory, concentration, organizational skills, self-esteem, and problem-solving.
- Illness Management and Recovery- Assists individuals to manage their mental health symptoms and reduce relapse by developing coping skills, setting goals, and increasing natural supports.
- Chronic Disease Management- Assists individuals in managing their physical health to reduce illness and relapse in physical health symptoms.
