Centerpiece 24

It’s an old Chinese tradition to fill the cracks in a broken pot with gold to create something beautiful out of something broken. In this sculpture, the large hole represents trauma, and the cracks represent how that trauma has affected me throughout my life and across the various domains of life. Most of the cracks are filled with gold and contribute to the beauty but when you look closely, we will see some of the cracks are painted with a color shifting paint. They represent the effects the trauma still has on me which may not be immediately evident, but when you look at the piece from different angles and you will see different cracks.
